Notes & Observations
- Scotland has more bank holidays than England & Wales, due in part to 2nd January and St Andrew’s Day.
- Easter Monday is not a bank holiday in Scotland. (It is observed in England & Wales, but Scotland normally excludes it)
- The Summer Bank Holiday in Scotland takes place on the first Monday of August (unlike England & Wales, where it’s the last Monday of August).
- The St Andrew’s Day Bank Holiday is specific to Scotland and added since 2007 under Scottish law.
